This was done for a contest on CGSociety. Someday, I hope humans will travel to Mars and terraform the planet. I imagine this is what it would look like as the sun rises on a Martian crater in the distant future. Using 3D to create the basic block for the terraforming plant, I eventually brought the renders into Photoshop and created a brush from the renders. This allowed me to build up layers of the objects and give the feel of a glass power plant.
